This week, Metallica Monday takes us back to November 1st, 1991 for the beginning of what seemed like a never ending Black Album tour that started in Muskegon, Michigan.

It seems like a lifetime ago. And for those who are 30 years old today, it is a lifetime ago. Metallica’s “Black” album was released on August 12th 1991. The album would set the band on a course that would divide their fan base and at the same time, morph them into mainstream rock superstars.

This week’s Metallica Monday will transport us back to that era. The Black Album tour is one that would take 2 and a half years of the band’s life from recording and mastering to touring.

Friday November 1st, 1991.
